17th Annual TKFGS Spring Fish Sale

                                       April 16-18, 2010                                                              Water Garden Gems (Near San Antonio, Texas)   

 

TKFGS 17th annual Spring fish sale and seminars is just a few days away. Andy Moo of Andrews Koi International of Anaheim, CA. will be traveling to Japan in February and again in March to buy koi especially for our event. The koi will be shipped to Andy’s shop in California for quarantine and testing. Koi will be carefully checked for any problems including parasites and blood samples will be tested for KHV antibodies before being brought to our event. We believe that this is the best way to insure that koi sold at the sale with be as healthy as possible. Those of you that attended this event last year can attest to the health and the quality of the koi that were sold.  

 

Andy Moo has been in the koi business over 20 years and makes several trips a year to Japan to visit koi breeders and purchase koi. Andy is planning to bring a wide variety of over 1,000 koi ranging from inexpensive pond grade ($25) to show grade ($100 and up) one year old koi for our event. He will also be bringing a few dozen two year old koi. We are very excited about having Andy as a big part of our spring event and know it will provide a special opportunity to purchase beautiful healthy koi in a wide variety of price ranges. If you are interested in having Andy purchase a special koi in Japan for you and deliver it to you at our event please contact Andy or his wife Louise though his website at http://www.andrewskoi.com   Vance Schultze will be bringing some of his best one to two year old long fin koi to sell at this event as well. Vance has bred some of the best long fin koi in the U.S. and this is one of the best opportunities to see and purchase them. Mike Christensen will be returning and selling his locally bred and imported fancy goldfish. Mike will be bringing a selection of baby and adult goldfish in a wide range of prices. If you are interested in ordering a special goldfish you can find his contact information at: http://www.ornamentalpondfish.com    We will be setting up tanks for the koi and goldfish sale on Thursday, April 15 beginning at 9:30am. We need volunteers to assist us with the set up and we will allow our volunteers to select koi/goldfish 1st as a thank you for their extra service. The sale will be held on April 16, 17, and 18, 2010. We are expecting the koi to arrive late on the 15th and be available for sale on the 16th through the remainder of the weekend.  We are expecting the long fins and goldfish to arrive late afternoon on the 16th and be on sale for the remainder of the weekend. 

 

 

Water Garden Gems in Marion Texas will again be the location of our event. Hours for this event will be:

  9:00am to 5:30pm 

 Saturday

  9:00am to 5:00pm 

 Sunday

 10:00am to 4:00pm

In addition there will be a TKFGS fundraising raffle, membership drive, and a live koi judging seminar with prizes.  We are also going to have a club booth with special raffles of show quality fish, fish supplies, and pond items worth thousands of dollars.
